Terms of sale, installation requirements, and liability information

Installation Notice

While HHC harnesses are designed for direct plug-and-play replacement of OEM harnesses, installation should be performed by a qualified automotive technician or an individual with experience in automotive electrical systems.

Automotive electrical work requires proper tools, knowledge of vehicle systems, and attention to detail. Improper installation may result in vehicle damage, electrical malfunction, or safety hazards.

If you are not comfortable working with automotive electrical systems, we recommend having a qualified professional install your harness. The cost of professional installation is minimal compared to the cost of diagnosing problems caused by improper installation.

Vehicle Requirements

HHC harnesses are designed to work with properly maintained vehicles with functioning electrical systems. Before installation, ensure:

  • All circuits are protected by properly rated OEM fuses. Do not install oversized fuses, bypass fuses, or remove fuse protection from any circuit.
  • Battery and charging system are in good working order. Overcharging or voltage spikes can damage any electrical component.
  • Grounds are clean and secure. Poor grounds cause voltage drops and erratic behavior that may appear to be harness-related.
  • No fluid leaks exist in the harness routing area. Oil, coolant, fuel, and other fluids degrade wiring insulation over time.

HHC is not responsible for damage resulting from bypassed, missing, or incorrectly rated fuses, or from pre-existing vehicle conditions.

Proper Use

HHC harnesses are replacement parts designed for the specific applications listed on each product page. Do not:

  • Modify the harness by cutting, splicing, or adding wires unless instructed
  • Use the harness on a vehicle or application it was not designed for
  • Route the harness near exhaust components, moving parts, or sharp edges
  • Expose the harness to excessive heat, chemicals, or physical damage
  • Force connectors — if a connector doesn't fit, verify you have the correct harness for your application

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

HHC's total liability for any claim arising from or related to HHC products shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the product.

HHC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Vehicle damage beyond the harness itself
  • Fire, smoke, or heat damage
  • Personal injury
  • Lost use of vehicle
  • Towing, rental car, or transportation costs
  • Lost income or business interruption
  • Cost of professional installation or diagnosis

This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if HHC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Warranty vs. Liability

Our 3-Year Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. If a harness fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it.

However, warranty coverage does not extend liability beyond the harness itself. If a defective harness causes other damage, our liability is limited to repair or replacement of the harness, not consequential damages to your vehicle or other property.

Assumption of Risk

By purchasing and installing an HHC product, you acknowledge that:

  • Working on vehicle electrical systems carries inherent risks
  • Proper installation requires skill and attention to detail
  • You have read and understood these terms
  • You accept responsibility for proper installation and use

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hardcore Harness Co., its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from:

  • Your improper installation or use of HHC products
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Your negligence or willful misconduct

Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from or relating to HHC products or these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Cherokee County, Georgia, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Each party shall bear its own costs and attorney fees.

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
