Build Philosophy
Engine-Specific, Hand-Built
- Each set of IndestructaWires is cut and terminated to fit the exact engine application. No looping slack, no universal “one length fits all” compromises.
- Correct lengths mean cleaner routing, less strain at the boots, and reduced chances of jacket abrasion or tension fatigue over time.
Why It Matters
- Universal wire kits often ship with excess length. Installers end up looping wires over valve covers or pulling them taut — both introduce stress points that lead to jacket breakdown or internal conductor fatigue.
- By matching the engine, IndestructaWires eliminate these failure modes from the start.
Material Philosophy
- Insulation: thicker-than-standard dielectric materials, rated for high breakdown voltage (>50 kV).
- Outer Jackets: fiberglass braid or silicone-coated fiberglass, both of which far exceed OEM heat and abrasion ratings.
- Boots: silicone for flexibility (~450 °F), ceramic for extreme heat (~2,000 °F+).
- Ground Leads (Shielded sets): aerospace-grade Tefzel, resistant to solvents, oils, and abrasion.
Why It Matters
- OEM-grade EPDM boots and jackets are consumables. They harden, crack, and carbon-track. Materials like fiberglass, silicone, and ceramic were chosen specifically for long-term stability under oil, fuel, and UV exposure.
Testing & Verification
- Every wire is continuity-checked to confirm a secure crimp and correct conductor integrity.
- Shielded sets are additionally tested for proper shield-to-ground continuity to guarantee EMI suppression.
- Bench tests simulate routing stress to ensure ferrule shrink transitions do not slip under flex or pull.
Philosophy of Overkill
- Most ignition wires are designed to be “good enough” for 3–5 years of service. That’s a consumable mindset.
- IndestructaWires are designed from the opposite perspective: assume the wire should last the life of the vehicle.
- That means oversizing insulation, adding redundant reinforcement (rigid shrink, ferrules, braid), and choosing materials with ratings well beyond normal under-hood conditions.
In Plain English
- OEM = disposable.
- Performance wires = louder spark but still wear items.
- IndestructaWires = engineered like permanent vehicle hardware. Install them once, maintain them, and expect them to outlast the engine they’re bolted to.
